9 year-old Winter Vinecki leads Team Winter. Her efforts have raised over $30,000 for Athletes for a Cure. WIth matching funds, Winter and her mom have raised more than $100,000!
"It's all about attitude -- training has always helped me get up and out of bed faster after surgeries or treatments for cancer," Handler says. "I don't feel like I'm almost 70, I feel 50. And as long as my body holds up, I'll do triathlon." Megan Fisher, a below knee amputee finished the XTERRA World Triathlon Championships in Maui. Three years ago she was told she would never walk again. She finished the off-road triathlon in 5:09:47. David Kyle, who has multiple sclerosis, won the men's physically challenged division in just under five hours.
"I have a sense of achievement. Of starting to get stronger again and get fit. Of training for something, committing to it and seeing it through to the end, and doing it against the odds," participant Mrs Alvemalm said.
And now, though I am weakened, I am stronger, too. I can handle more, appreciate more, understand more about the world around me. I can cope with the unknown, too; I'm not happy about it, but I am capable. And I fight.

"My training is time for myself." Tevin said the triathlon is his mother's way of setting an example for him.

In a recent devotional, the author discusses a scene from Chariots of Fire. In it, Eric Liddle explains his passion for running. He tells his sister, "Jenny, you've got to understand. I believe God made me for a purpose- for China- but He also made me fast. And when I run, I feel His pleasure."
Each devotional includes three parts: - Ready (the scripture), - Set (a story), and - Go (the application questions.)
